DATE OF BIRTH FORMAT and AGE MOD

I had the age mod installed that showed a persons age on their profile- however, when I changed the date of birth format to MM/DD/YY it apparently is not compatible with the age mod, and now AGE reads unknown on the profiles.

Is there a way to keep the date of birth format on the join page as MM/DD/YY and only show AGE on the profile page? I have been pulling my hair out trying to fix this one.
