May I know how can I remove the header, footer and background of the page in dolphin if I just want to show the web site content in a plain page. I tried to comment out ob_start and it was not working. Commented out header and error displayed.

In the folder templates/tmpl_uni/

find the _header.html and _footer.html

You can change there.

but I only want a page to show the content without the header and footer not all pages. How should I go about without editing the main template ?

You have to edit the templating function.

There is another easy way. With php you can get the output before sending to the user browser. Then you can extract it by the function substr.
