From the errors, it seems the path is not set correctly. Plz. post the path of RMS and the path that you have provided in the files.

The path to the executable files should be correct. You will have to specify the correct directory where the exe is.

I don't think it is a Path problem.
I have the same problem when running on a windows vista pc with a local connection and a domain name of localhost.

Rms is installed at C:\RMS and the paths to java.exe and to the class paths are defined in c:\RMS\conf\wrapper.conf
The RMS server starts up with no error messages.

This is what I have in my red5-web.properties file for all web apps, the app name is of course diferent
webapp.contextPath=/chatwebapp.virtualHosts=127.0.0.1:10189
The properties file in conf has 10189 as the rtmp port

I think somehow it is a connection problem when the conditions are as above

Hope someone has a solution.

I have solved the problem of the java.lang.nullpointerexception when using the RMS server on a local windows machine

The problem was that localhost CANNOT be used, an external name eg myname.com MUST be used

I have a free name from dyndns.com and it gets updated automatically when the dynamic IP changes
This can be done with a software client or as in my case by my Dlink router.

1)Change ServerName in httpd-conf in apache from localhost:80 to myname.com:80 and restart the Apache server

2)In dolphin/inc/header.inc.php
Change $site['url']              = "http://myname.com/dolphin/"; was http://localhost/dolphin
DO NOT CHANGE $db['host']                = 'localhost';

3) Change access.dat to add myname.com

Start rms server and Voila, you're good to go
